Copy Editor - $700/month
• Maintain a style guide for The Ubyssey, know the guide inside and out
• Ensure that other editors are aware of the style guide, and have a shorter reference guide to follow
• Be at the Ubyssey office to copyedit print issues the day before they are sent to the printer
• Knowledgable about libel and libel laws
• Daily availability (5 days a week) to check up on web stories and ensure a consistent style across all articles on ubyssey.ca is required
Web Developer — $700/month
• Responsible for maintaining our website and addressing issues promptly as they arise
• Aid in our storytelling by working with editors and writers to implement special web projects and features
• Experienced in Javascript, HTML, CSS, Python, other languages are assets
• Preference will be given to candidates who are as interested in journalism as they are in computer science
• Specific hours and duties will be determined with the coordinating editor
